Students:
All students taking the Dec. 9 ACT are reminded that photos must be uploaded by Dec. 1.
Seniors are reminded to keep an eye on deadlines. We are still in the timeframe when most colleges allow you to apply for free, but many colleges end this offer in the spring. Dordt College has some scholarships that have a priority deadline of Jan 1.
Advance notices:
- Fall Music Concert will be held Monday, December 11 at 7:00 PM.
- First semester exams are scheduled for December 19, 20, and 21. Please plan accordingly to minimize absences during those days.
General Announcements:
We have been spared wintery weather so far. In the event that the weather affects school, notification will be made according to the following means: the information will be put on the school’s website; an email will be sent to each family; and there will be notification sent to KIWA, KDCR, and KSOU.
Have you dusted off the instrument and getting those chops in shape? The alumni and post-high band will be practicing on Monday, November 27, beginning at 7:30 pm. Notice the change of time. Bring your instrument, music and a stand if you have one. We will be practicing again, but will discuss the best times for participants. If you cannot make this practice, email Laura Kuiper at lkuiper@trinitychs.org and let her know the best time for practice for you. See you all then! Also, if you haven’t contacted Mrs. Kuiper yet, but would still like to participate, email her, or come tonight to practice.
From the Concession Committee:
- The concessions committee has decided to try a new approach for the upcoming basketball season. We have assigned each family (one person per household, high school age or older) to work one shift in the concession stand. We are so grateful for all the volunteers we have had over the years but we are often still short on workers. This is such a great fundraiser for our school and everyone is able to benefit from this project! This money goes directly to Parent’s Circle and has been used to purchase choir robes, choir risers, chairs, desks, a piano, and kitchen supplies. The robotics team as well as the athletic department have benefited from this as well. We realize how busy everybody is and we really appreciate you all giving an hour and a half of your time. We could not continue this without everyone’s generous participation! Your work time can be found on the Trinity website under “Resources” then “Documents” and at the bottom of the page you can find “Concession Stand Sign Up”. This is a google doc so if you need to trade or find a replacement, we ask that you please update the document. We have 70 spots to fill and 57 families in Trinity so if you’d like to sign up for a second shift, you can do that on this document. We have attached the schedule to this email as well. Again, we cannot thank you enough for your help. May we all be blessed as we work together in support of TCHS.
- Our first boys and girls home game is on Thursday, Nov. 30. Those scheduled to work from 5:10-7:00 are Dave or Lisa De Boer, Dave or Missy Van Egdom, and Brian or Stephanie Van Engen. Those who are scheduled to work from 7:00 –end are Craig or Heather Hoksbergen, Rob or Candice Andringa, and Joel or Natalie Van Ginkel. If you are not able to work, you will need to find a replacement.
A heavy duty pizza pan missing from Trinity’s kitchen, please return it as soon as possible.
From the Trinity Apparel Committee: The Webstore for ordering Trinity Generic Fan Wear will close THIS MORNING at 11:59. So please get your orders in ASAP, if you haven’t already. No late orders will be accepted. Go to www.getbranded360.com, Shop, then Schools and Universities, then Trinity Christian Fan Wear. The Generic Apparel will arrive on Dec 8, in time for your Christmas gift giving. If you have items for Christmas that you want to keep secret please specify in the memo box on the website when completing your order. Those orders will be kept in the office at Trinity for you to pick up versus handing out for your student to take home.
