Students:
As we near the end of the school year, please check around the house for books and other school items so that they can be returned.
Our hot lunch this week will be our annual picnic. Grillmeisters Nick Kooiker and Alden De Jong are again doing the cooking. Buns and patties are provided. The student council has the student body organized into who brings chips, pop, condiments, etc.
Exams for freshmen through juniors will be next week Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, May 22-24. Teachers will be in the building Monday morning so they will be available to answer questions even though the exams won’t start until noon on that day. The last exam will conclude at noon on Wednesday. Students may come to school just before their first exam for a day, and they may leave after concluding their last exam for a day. Students may not be coming and going to school during the exam time. The library will be open for quiet study and the gymnasium for group study.
Congratulations to the boys golf team on a fine showing at the sectional meet finishing 5th out of 7 (1 stroke behind 4th) as a team shooting a 384. A special congratulations to Andrew De Boer who qualified to advance to the District Meet as an individual by shooting an 87 (40, 47). Andrew will participate in the District Meet next Thursday in Fort Dodge on Lakeside Golf Course. That meet will begin at 10:00 am.
Congratulations to Alyssa Uittenbogaard and Samuel Laning who have qualified for the State Track and Field Meet in Des Moines next week! Alyssa qualified in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.77 seconds. She will run in the Preliminaries at 10:40 a.m. on Thursday, May 18. Samuel qualified in the 400 meter dash with a time of 53.65 seconds. He will run in the 400 meter dash final at 1:40 p.m. on Thursday, May 18.
General Announcements:
From the apparel committee – For those of you who ordered State Track Shirts, they will be arriving Wed. The cost is $15. You will need to pay for them before you can pick them up. Thank you.
Trinity students, their parents, and all supporters are invited to a technology meeting tonight, Monday, May 15, at 7:00 PM. Deputy Waylon Pollema from the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office will have a presentation about some of the dangers lurking the Internet. Rev. Griess will then speak from God’s Word, showing from Proverbs 7 how fittingly our Heavenly Father warns and instructs. This is the same material as was presented at HPRCS in April. If you haven’t heard it before, it is definitely worth your time. If you have heard it already, it’s worth hearing again.
Trinity Christian High will present its Spring Music Program on Tuesday, May 16, at 7:00 PM. Both choirs and band will present numbers in celebration of our risen Savior. Join us for an evening of musical praise.
There will be an awards ceremony for our seniors on May 16 following the music concert. All are welcome to stay and help us recognize these accomplishments and awards.
Graduation exercises for the sixth graduating class of Trinity Christian High School will be held at the school the evening of Monday, May 22, at 7:00pm. Everyone is welcome to join us as we mark this milestone in the lives of our covenant young people.
Trinity Christian is in need of a girls junior varsity volleyball coach for the fall of 2017 and a junior varsity boys basketball coach for the 2017-18 season. Interested persons should contact Kevin Van Engen, Athletic Director.
