Trinity Memo 3.16.20

We wait patiently on our Heavenly Father as we navigate through the coronavirus pandemic. Trinity is in session today. The school board is having a special meeting tonight. Gov. Reynolds recommendation that schools close will be on the agenda.

Today is the final day for current teachers to sign contracts for 20-21.

  • The board is excited to report that Mr. Greg Gritters is joining our staff! Mr. Gritters is our first alum to return to our staff in a teaching capacity, taking up our science position. Mr. Gritters has been teaching at Heritage Christian School in Hudsonville, MI.
  • The board has received signed contracts from Mrs. Bloemendaal, Mrs. L. Burgers, Mrs. Kuiper, Mr. Van Engen, and Mr. Warner. We are thankful for their continued labors.
  • Mr. Westra has not signed a full-time contract for 20-21, although he leaves open the possibility of a part-time position. We pray the Lord make His will plain to Mr. Westra going forward. Mr. Westra is one of our longest tenured teachers, and we sincerely thank him for his many years.
  • We express thanks to Mrs. De Vries and Mrs. K. Burgers. We are deeply indebted to Mrs. De Vries for bridging the gap between Mrs. Brummel and Mr. Gritters in the sturdiest fashion. Thank you very much! We express thanks to Mrs. K. Burgers for her year of labor. She stepped into the high school role and handled it with aplomb. We wish her the Lord’s blessings as she takes up motherhood this summer.

The Visiting Day for Grandparents of Seniors scheduled for March 27 is postponed. We hope to set a new date later in the spring.

From the Athletic Director:

Today’s indoor track meet at Dordt has been cancelled and will not be rescheduled. Further information about any upcoming track meets is unknown at this time. We will try to keep you as up to date as possible.
