From the AD:
Trinity Christian is in search of an Assistant Boys Basketball Coach for this upcoming season. If you or someone you know is interested in the position, please contact Mike De Jager at ad@trinitychs.org or Head Coach Zach Van Ginkel at zak_van_gink@hotmail.com.
If you are interested in working at the scorer’s table during the basketball season, please let me know. I have the scoreboard and shot clock positions filled, as well as, the scorebook for the boys’ games but am looking for someone that can keep scorebook during the varsity girls’ games.
Trinity Christian is looking for a few people (students or adults) that would be interested in setting up basketball-season live-streaming and doing play-by-play voice over. No experience is needed as training will be provided by Fuller Digital. This position/service is compensated. Please contact Nathan Schiermeyer (Tech committee chairman) @ 712-541-5436 for more information, or to apply.
From the Principal:
You may have read or heard matters about the membership of the War Eagle Conference (WEC) changing. I can confirm that there is definitely something going on, and as the principal I would like to report what has happened and what is happening.
George-Little Rock (G-LR) applied for membership in the WEC this fall. On October 6 the heads of the WEC schools met. This group unanimously accepted G-LR as a member school. However, as athletic events are planned well in advance, the implementation would have been 2024-2025 unless a different schedule could be worked out sooner.
It turns out that a different schedule did indeed work. WEC school Unity Christian was invited to join the Siouxland Conference. Unity made efforts to do this and they were unanimously accepted. As G-LR left the Siouxland, the G-LR schedules and the Unity schedules will simply take each other’s place in their new respective conferences starting next year, 2023-2024.
While everything for this change fell in place nicely, it won’t be official until December 9. At that time the WEC schools will formally accept Unity’s request to leave the WEC. The schools will also meet and greet the head of G-LR at that time.
Thanks for your interest in and support of Trinity Christian High School extra-curriculars!
