Trinity Memo 5.16.22

Students:

Graduation exercises for the 11th graduating class of Trinity Christian High School will be held tonight, Monday, May 16, at 7:00 p.m. The graduation will be held at the high school, and Rev. Laning will address the graduates from their class text of I Timothy 4:12. Everyone is welcome to join us in this milestone of our covenant young people.

Congratulations to Brooke Meyer on Clarinet and Marissa Westra on piano who will be performing at the Outstanding Performance Showcase in Ames on Tuesday, May 17. They received this honor by their performance at the State Solo & Ensemble contest.

There is a lost-and-found table overflowing with treasures. The table is in the hallway right near the bathrooms.

Please check around the house and in vehicles for items such as books and uniforms that need returning to Trinity.

Exams are Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of this week. Students may come in time for their first exam, and they may leave after their last exam; but they may not be leaving and returning between exams.

Final grades will be emailed out no later than noon on Friday, May 27. Continue reading

Trinity Memo 5.9.22

Students:

Trinity Christian High Music Department will present its Spring Program tonight, Monday, May 9, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Trinity’s gym. The band, both choirs, and combined choirs will each perform numbers. A collection will be taken for Trinity Christian. Join us in celebrating our risen Savior through music.

After tonight’s concert there will be a brief time of awards for our graduating class.

Rev. Koole will lead us in chapel on Wednesday, May 11, at 11:30 a.m. All are welcome to join us.

Our hot lunch this Wednesday will be our annual picnic. Steady volunteers Alden De Jong and Nick Kooiker will again be manning the grill. Continue reading

Trinity Memo 5.2.22 PDF

Students:

Trinity’s 11th graduation will be Monday, May 16, at 7:00 p.m. It will be held in the gymnasium, and Rev. Laning will be the speaker.

The seniors will be going to Kansas City this week Thursday and Friday for their senior trip. They look forward to a time of fellowship and send a note of gratitude to all supporters who made this trip possible for them.

The last day for freshmen through juniors will be Wed., May 18, with a noon dismissal.

Please start checking around the house and in vehicles for books and uniforms that need to be returned to school. From the librarian: Library books should all be returned by next Friday, May 13. Please look around and return the books you are finished with. Next week we will publish a list of missing books. Thank you!

The choirs and band will present their Spring program at Trinity on Monday, May 9, beginning at 7:00 p.m. A brief awards program for our seniors will be held shortly after the concert. Continue reading

Trinity Memo 4.25.22 PDF

Students:

Freshmen and juniors will be participating in ISASP testing this week.

Juniors and junior parents, NCC online course registrations are due to Mrs. Bloemendaal this week Wednesday, April 27.  This is the final date they will be accepted.  Please access the email from March 25 for more information.

Current sophomores and juniors interested in taking NCC courses over the summer, just a reminder that those registration forms are due to Mrs. Bloemendaal on Monday, May 2.

There will not be classes for the juniors and seniors on Friday, April 29, to give them opportunity to prepare for the Jr/Sr Banquet. Please be reminded that all the Handbook rules, including the dress code, remain in place for all the banquet attendees.

Vero’s food truck will be at Trinity for noon on Thursday, April 28. Grandparents, parents, and friends of the school are welcome to join us. The plan is for all the Trinity students who pre-ordered to have their food by 12:00, and then everyone else can order after that. We’ll have tables and chairs set up for dining. The food ranges in the $7-10 range. We’ll try to link a menu to Trinity’s website. Continue reading

Trinity Memo 4.18.22

Students:

Parents of juniors and seniors, just a friendly reminder that banquet information sheet with payment AND outside date permission slips (if desired) are due in the office by this week Wednesday, April 20.

Choir:

  • Every choir member family, Freshmen through Senior, is asked to bring 2 dozen cookies to school for THURSDAY.  These cookies will be used on Thursday afternoon for the choir members and for refreshments after the concert on Thursday.  Please send these cookies to the school office either Wednesday or Thursday.
  • Friday our Jr/Sr choir will travel to Dordt University to participate in the Dordt Choir festival. There will be a mass concert Friday night at the BJ Haan Auditorium at 7:00 p.m.

Class schedule adjustments in the absence of choirs:

  • Teachers have planned classes and activities for the non-choir members for Thursday afternoon while the choirs are rehearsing.
  • Teachers have planned classes and activities for the juniors and seniors who are non-choir members for Friday.

Thursday night, after the concert, there will be an open gym at Trinity to allow more time for fellowship among the high schoolers. The gym will be open after the concert to 10:00-ish. Continue reading
