The boys basketball team concluded their season Thursday night as they lost to South O’Brien in district tournament play by a score of 49-34. Jordan Kooima led the team in scoring with 16 points and Collin Heynen added 10 points. The team finished their season with a 12-10 record overall and were 8-3 (4th place) in the War Eagle Conference. Congratulations to the team on a fine season and for representing Trinity Christian well.

Students were paired by our Statistics class according to ‘compatibility’. Mr. Westra had a good time announcing the pairings; the guys were very gentlemanly in escorting the ladies to their tables. Saturday we experienced another first at Trinity. I’m not referring to the first place that the robotics team garnered. They’ve done that a few times already this year. Rather, the first to which I refer is the hosting of a robotics tournament. It proved a worthy event. Highlights of the hosting included:
Let’s start by identifying Boxer.
Boxer is a horse. He is a huge and muscular draft horse. One can read about Boxer by reading the satirical novel Animal Farm. In the novel, the farm is going through a lot of changes. However, Boxer is the one constant on the farm, always working hard, always shouldering his share of the work and more. If things aren’t going well on the farm, Boxer’s solution is always simple and predictable – he says, “I will work harder.”
