Students:

The rep from Northwest Iowa Community College will be in the building this Thursday, October 13, to meet with interested seniors.

The representative from the Jostens company plans to visit Trinity on Monday, October 31. He will visit with the sophomores about class rings, and he’ll get the seniors set up for graduation caps and gowns.

There will be a 2:30 dismissal on Thursday, October 13.

Next Tuesday, October 18, there will be periods 1-4 in the morning and then an 11:45 dismissal for conferences. There will then be no school the rest of the week as teachers attend the annual PRTI convention.

General:

The Parent-Teacher Conference schedule is available. Please sign up as needed. Trinity is hosting regional volleyball the evening of the Monday conferences so the conferences will take place in the classrooms. Come to conferences and catch some volleyball action on the side! The 2022 PRTI Teachers’ Convention with the theme “Encouraging Our Covenant Soldiers” will be held on October 20-21 at Hope Protestant Reformed Christian School (Grand Rapids). Our keynote speaker will be Prof. Kuiper, speaking on Deuteronomy 20:1-4. All prospective teachers as well as retired teachers are encouraged to attend.

Today the junior class is attending Junior Career Day at NCC in Sheldon. We trust that this may be a means that is helpful as they seek God’s will concerning their life’s calling.

General:

We are extremely appreciative of the support we have enjoyed at home volleyball games this fall. Any help monitoring young children is also appreciated as our maintenance personnel is picking a lot of landscaping rocks out of the lawn after each home game.

Rev. Regnerus will lead us in chapel at 11:30 on Friday. All are welcome to join us.

Financial Aid Night with Mr. Harlan Harmelink is scheduled for this Thursday evening, September 29.  If you are interested in learning about the FAFSA application and other useful financial aid information, please meet in the high school library after the volleyball game that night.

Next Monday, October 3, the junior class will attend the annual Junior Career Day hosted by NCC.

To support our TC volleyball teams at home this week the student council is sponsoring the following:

1. Tuesday night is Cowboy/Country night. Wear your best western style clothes in support of the teams
2. Thursday night is Red, White, and Blue night. Wear your most patriotic clothing in support of the teams.

We extend a big thank-you to the Parent’s Circle executive committee for a successfully planned and executed fall meeting. We also thank Rev. and Mrs. Eriks for their excellent presentation about parenting. It was biblically based, loaded with common sense, and applicable to today. It was a great evening!

Please reserve the date! The Trinity Christian High School Harvest Sale will be held on Friday, November 18. An enjoyable evening of food and fellowship is being planned. Start thinking about your donations for this worthy cause of supporting our high school.

Students:

A representative from Dordt University will be meeting with the seniors today.

Fourteen junior and senior students will be headed to Construction Career Camp hosted by Southeast Technical Institute in Sioux Falls this Thursday, Sept. 22.  They will be gone for the whole school day.

Mr. Harlan Harmelink, director of financial aid at Dordt University, will be presenting information about college financial aid preparation next week Thursday, September 29, following the volleyball game against Gehlen.  Please mark your calendars.

Rev. Eriks will lead us in chapel on Wednesday at 11:30. All are welcome to join us.

There is a 2:30 dismissal on Thursday, September 22.

No lunch pails needed on Friday, September 23! American State Bank is generously cooking a ‘tailgate’ for us for our noon meal.

The American State Bank is sponsoring a noon “tailgate” for our students and staff on Friday, September 23. The bank will provide all the food and the student council will sponsor some activities. We are looking for two volunteers to join us to help serve (and eat!) the food. Just contact Mrs. Uittenbogaard in the office to volunteer.

Seniors, if you want to take the October 22 ACT test, the registration deadline is this Friday, Sept 16.

This week Thursday we will host our first college rep.  Southeast Tech will be here to meet with seniors at 12:45 on Thursday, Sept 15.

We have robotics coaches! Thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Brian Van Engen for stepping into the role! We look forward to a great season.

We are planning to do J-term this school year. The dates are January 3, 4, and 5.

The freshman/sophomore mixer is scheduled for this Friday, September 9. Just a reminder that students should be picked up at the River’s Bend Campground at 9:00 pm.

If you would like to purchase a 2021-2022 yearbook, they are available in the office or in Mrs. Bloemendaal’s room.  The cost of a yearbook is $30.

 There is a small, but dedicated, group of students in urgent need of a robotics coach! This is a paid position, but the real reward is in working with the covenant young people in a great environment. See Mr. Regnerus if you are interested. The season starts soon!
